Conditions of Contest

All matches are 28 boards long, scored in imps and converted to victory points according to a slightly modified ACBL 30-VP scale:
VPs : IMPs
15-15 : 0
16-14 : 1
17-13 : 2
18-12 : 3-6
19-11 : 7-10
20-10 : 11-15
21-9 : 16-20
22-8 : 21-26
23-7 : 27-33
24-6 : 34-41
25-5 : 42-50
26-4 : 51-60
27-3 : 61-71
28-2 : 72-83
29-1 : 84-95
30-0 : 96+

All matches must be complete by October 31.

The top four teams reach the KO finals. The team with the highest victory point total selects its opponent from the third and fourth place teams. The winners of those matches play for the championship. There is a carryover in knockout matches of 1/3 of the imps from the round robin match if the team that won the round robin match finished with more VPs, and a carryover of 1/5 of the imps from the round robin match if the team that won the round robin finished with equal or fewer VPs. If the teams did not play in the round robin, then there is no carryover.

If there is a tie for victory points, the following shall be used to break the tie. In the event that multiple teams are tied, the steps are followed until a tied team is eliminated, then restarted from the top with the remaining teams. For example, in a three way tie where all three teams had 1 win and 1 loss against each other, then the team lowest ranked in victory points against opponents in common would be eliminated, and the tie between the other two would revert to head-to-head result.

1. Head-to-head result (only if all involved teams played each other)
2. Victory points against opponents in common
3. Victory points against the highest ranking opponent in common
4. Victory points against the next highest ranking opponent in common, and so on until all opponents in common are compared
5. Imps against opponents in common
6. Imps against the highest ranking opponent in common
7. Imps against the highest ranking opponent in common, and so on until all opponents in common are compared
8. Total imps
9. Coin flip

If there is a tie during the knockout phase there will be a 6 board playoff.

In the event of any bridge irregularity, if it is possible the team captains should agree on a ruling. If the captains cannot agree on a ruling, then both should submit written statements of the event to the league commissioner who will make a ruling in consultation with a director.

This is a mid-chart event. However to use a mid-chart convention, all of the ACBL rules must be followed, in particular pre-alerting the conventions and providing a copy of an authorized defense for those methods requiring one.

If the captains do not consult before the match the trailing team has seating rights for the second half. If the score is tied, seating rights are decided randomly. Seating rights do not include the right to choose your team's four players only after it is known which four from the opposing team is playing. If more than four players from either team are available and a dispute results, captains will list their four players for the half simultaneously, reveal the lists, and then seat players.

Teams are expected to play all of their matches, even if they are out of contention. That said, a forfeited match is scored as follows: The offending team receives 0 VPs and is removed from playoff eligibility. The non-offending team gets the maximum of (a) their average Victory Point total in all of their non-forfeited matches, (b) the average Victory Point total of the opponents of the offending side in all of the offending side's non-forfeited matches, or (c) 18 Victory Points.

Any matter not listed in the conditions of contest will be resolved by the league commissioner. The decisions of the commissioner are final.
